Advanced System Key Moratorium
It is imperative that the integrity of the DTRS is not compromised in anyway. Strict policies must be enforced to assist in the system safety.
As many are aware, a moratorium is in affect for Advanced System Keys. CCNC is painfully aware that this continues to negatively impact many of our members. CCNC Board Members in working with the State of Colorado OIT DTRS Program Manager are diligently creating a new Advanced System Key Training Program.
This program will require anyone applying for an Advanced System Key, or renewing their current keys, will have to pass a test in order to receive or renew their keys. The program is in addition to the current requirements already in place (background checks, etc.).
*This training and approval program may change based upon technological advances, governance needs, and policy changes by CCNC and the SOC.

Advanced System Keys
The State of Colorado (SOC) uses an advanced radio system to provide mission critical two-way voice communications to thousands of public safety responders and governmental organizations across the state. In keeping with technology Best Practices, network security, and system performance, it is critical that all Digitally Trunked Radio System (DTRS) users comply with Consolidated Communications Network of Colorado (CCNC) and SOC Office of Public Safety Communications (OPSC) policies and procedures. This is particularly critical for system key holders programming radios to place on the system.
The System Key Application and Agreement need to be fully completed prior to submission. Once all criteria is met, personnel from the State of Colorado OIT will present it to the CCNC Executive Board for final approval.
